Wicks Place, located in Sydney NSW, Australia, is comprised of 272 apartments across five buildings along with retail and commercial spaces and access to neighbouring Wicks Place.
The project includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments with terraces, green spaces and a private communal outdoor area on level one.
Toga uses Matrak to track progress and help manage its complex trade sequencing.
The Problem
Wicks Place’s complex & detailed trade sequencing meant Toga had multiple areas of Wicks Place on multiple sequences running at the same time. As site progression was dependent on input from various trades within the sequence, which were not linear, this made it challenging to manage the sequences on site. The team was also manually tracking trade sequencing data in a large Excel spreadsheet sequence which was updated by physically walking around site and ticking off site progress with pen and paper first.
The Solution
Matrak’s Interactive floor plans provided visibility for Toga to be able to pull up any room or area of the build and see what stages needed to be completed. Subcontractors now had the ability to mark off when tasks have been completed and update the sequence in real time, which provided live traffic light reporting for all areas of the build that were being worked on.
The Result
Live reporting provided ability to proactively manage trades and visibility see what areas of the build were on track, had defects, or were at risk of falling behind schedule. The visual traffic light wall chart that was displayed in site office replaced the manual process of updating the master excel document and centralised reporting in Matrak. Which meant less time spent following up trades walking around site and updating spreadsheets.
