Surry Hills Village is a mixed-use development and precinct located in Sydney, NSW, Australia. It is home to 122 apartments, multiple colour schemes and apartment designs, a 102-room hotel, and 12,000 sqm of commercial and retail spaces.
Toga uses Matrak for a systematic approach to track and manage quality assurance and control in real-time. Ensuring all suppliers and subcontractors remained compliant with current requirements.
The Problem
Surry Hills Village had numerous trades which resulted in numerous QA documents that need to be collected. Project information was also being updated and shared in varied formats of documentation that were all paper based (PDf, Excel spreadsheets). Because of this complex management of documentation, someone had to be responsible for manually gathering and reporting on all quality documents
The Solution
Toga used QR codes to scan a location and find respective quality documents which replaced prior paper based processes. Subcontractors and site teams had the ability to mark off quality in real time and attach photos via the Matrak app . The team linked all quality documents directly into the project’s interactive drawings in Matrak. Allowing for easy access and tracking of all quality results and other quality information. Making Matrak a centralised location to store quality results and information.
The Result
Toga was able to have a a live wall chart reporting for quality, which comprised of a traffic light system of each room and area and the progress of quality for each of those areas. They Improved management of trades with the ability to identify which subcontractors are falling behind or have not completed quality check and saved time on document management.
